Heya! I want to start by thanking everyone that filled out the reader questionnaire, everyone provided really valuable feedback! I'm happy you took the time to share your thoughts with me so that I can make HFTL as fun and good as I possibly can!

With this in mind, It is clear to me that there are some readers who are having a hard time keeping track of certain elements of the world of HFTL, or the abilities of the characters in it. While some amount of confusion is expected, since I prefer not to use lore dumps, and the perspective character does not have all the information available, the confusion has gone far past what my intention was, and certain important details are being lost! To remedy this, I'll be working on an update to the comic that will hopefully make these important details more clear.

After considering this for a while, I think In an effort to not bog the reader down with too much information in the prologue, I have accidentally withheld and obscured some important details to the story. The prologue and first 2 chapters are due for an art update anyway, so I figure this is a good opportunity to start that task, and remake the prologue. The general structure of the prologue will be the same, and there wont be any story changing tweaks, but it will be delivered in a way that makes the world of HFTL a bit easier to understand, with some neat updated art to match the aesthetic of more recent chapters.

 For the world building junkies, and people who generally enjoy lore dumps, I'll be including a lore screen full of details on all the important stuff about the HFTL setting. This screen is intended as a quick reference section, for the reader who may need a refresher on what the hell a psicrystal is between chapter updates. I'm somewhat considering a more in depth section, but I haven't made up my mind on that, since my intention with the lore initially was for it to be more felt than learned.

This update is going to postpone the next chapter, since I'll be putting my efforts into redoing the old prologue, but I intend to have it done at least a week before the end of February, and this will likely be the only time till near the end of this project that I postpone new content to retouch old stuff. I'm hoping this new version of the prologue will still be fun y'all! I'm pulling out all the stops since I have much better tools and workflow than when I first started this project!
